Penstemon fruticosus (Shrubby Penstemon)

Brilliant lavender blooms grace this shrubby penstemon from May through July, their tubular flowers held proudly outward to attract hummingbirds and pollinators. The evergreen foliage maintains year-round structure and interest in the garden. For peak performance, plant in full sun with excellent drainage—it tolerates part shade but flowering diminishes. Shear after blooming to encourage extended colour. Reaches 10–18 inches tall and spreads to about 30 inches wide, making it ideal for rock gardens, borders, and pollinator landscapes.
