Malus diversifolia

The Pacific Crabapple features irregularly lobed leaves with toothed edges and pointed tips. Its branches possess sharp spur shoots characteristic of apple species. The tree produces fragrant blossoms ranging from white to pink. Its small, oblong fruits measure 10-15mm and vary in colour from yellow and orange to purplish-red. Mature bark is reddish-brown and deeply fissured. Ideal for wet environments and compact spaces, this tree offers appealing spring blooms and fall foliage that turns red or yellow-orange. Blooming occurs April to May, with small pome fruits maturing between August and September and often persisting through winter.
