Hedychium forrestii, also known as Forests ginger, is a beautiful jungly hardy ginger plant. It has large showy leaves and produces white open flower clusters in late summer. The flowers have a sweet delicate fragrance and often feature pale pink to yellow bases on the stamens and petal stems, creating an attractive contrast with the large white petals. The plant is named after George Forrest, a Scottish plant hunter who operated primarily in Yunnan, China.
