Bletilla striata 'Alba' (Hardy Orchid)

Bletilla striata ‘Alba’, known as the White Hardy Orchid, is a resilient terrestrial orchid indigenous to China and Japan. It features graceful, cattleya-style white blooms grouped in clusters of three to seven atop 18-inch tall stems. The plant’s foliage is broad, pleated, and arching, resembling grass. Over time, it forms colonies that serve well as accents or low ground cover. It thrives best in part shade within consistently moist, well-drained soil.
