Honey Queen Raspberry is a hardy everbearing yellow raspberry variety, originally developed in Rocky Mountain House, Alberta. This Canadian cultivar produces two harvests annually—a fall crop (August–September) on new canes and a late spring/early summer crop (June–July) on established canes.
The berries are prized for their distinctive honey-forward flavour and golden hue. Low in acid with a soft, medium to large size, they're ideal for fresh eating straight from the cane or preserving in jams. Among gold raspberries, Honey Queen stands out for its shade tolerance, making it an excellent choice for less sunny locations. The yellowish, moderately spiny canes arch naturally and benefit from upright trellising.
For optimal berry size and yield, provide consistent moisture throughout the growing season. This cold-hardy bramble thrives in well-drained soil and rewards attentive care with abundant harvests.
