This Japanese conifer delivers sophisticated year-round appeal with its refined pyramidal form and delicate foliage. Native to Honshu and Kyushu, Sawara cypress typically reaches 20-30' in cultivation, making it a manageable specimen for diverse landscape applications. The fine-textured needles display medium green colouring with distinctive white undersides, providing subtle chromatic contrast. Ornamental interest extends to the exfoliating reddish-brown bark and seasonal cone development, which transitions from glaucous green to deep brown. An excellent selection for gardens demanding architectural presence and refined textural qualities.
