Cedrus deodora 'Eisregen' stands out as one of the most cold-tolerant Deodar Cedars, thriving in USDA Zone 4 with temperatures dropping to -30°F. This elegant evergreen grows at a moderate pace of 12-18 inches per year, forming a narrow, upright pyramid reaching 15 to 20 feet tall and 6 to 8 feet wide, ideal for smaller landscape areas where larger cedars are unsuitable. Under optimal conditions, it can exceed 30 feet in height and spread up to 10 feet. Its drooping branches are adorned with soft blue-green needles and striking icy-silver-blue new growth, adding a tranquil aesthetic. Preferring well-drained soil and full sun, it is deer-resistant and becomes highly drought-tolerant once established.
