Stunning heart shaped leaves are shiny silver with contrasting, thin dark green veins; clusters of tiny blue flowers in spring; a wonderful shade accent plant; best in moist, rich, well drained soil
Alchemy Silver Bugloss is an herbaceous perennial with a mounded form. Its relatively coarse texture can be used to stand it apart from other garden plants with finer foliage.
This is a relatively low maintenance plant, and should be cut back in late fall in preparation for winter. Deer don't particularly care for this plant and will usually leave it alone in favor of tastier treats. It has no significant negative characteristics.
Alchemy Silver Bugloss features airy cymes of sky blue flowers at the ends of the stems from early to mid spring. The flowers are excellent for cutting. Its attractive heart-shaped leaves emerge chartreuse in spring, turning silver in colour with distinctive dark green veins throughout the season.
