Agave mckelveyana

Agave mckelveyana, native to mid-to-high elevations in Arizona, is a notably cold-tolerant century plant suited for zone 6. Its grey-green leaves measure 12 to 16 inches in length, featuring reddish to black tips and side spines. This species grows solitary or occasionally produces pups. Despite its hardiness, it requires dry conditions during winter, particularly when grown outdoors, as it is prone to damage from excess moisture. In colder climates, winter protection indoors is advisable to ensure its survival.
