Prunus pissardi 'Nigra' (Black Cherry Plum)

Prunus cerasifera 'Pissardii' is a decorative plum tree that adds vibrant color and elegance to compact garden spaces. Its deep purple foliage grows on distinctive nearly black stems, creating striking contrast with the delicate pink buds that bloom in spring and transition to soft white flowers as temperatures rise. By autumn, the tree produces small, plum-like fruits that are inedible for humans. This purple-leafed plum develops a rounded form, reaching approximately 5 meters tall and spreading 4 meters over 20 years. It adapts well to most soils except waterlogged conditions, thrives in full sun or partial shade, and tolerates moderately cold, exposed sites.
