Salavatski Pomegranate is prized for its exceptional cold tolerance, thriving in temperatures below 0°F. Its fruit, comparable in size to Wonderful pomegranates, features an orange-red rind and firm seeds. The thick-skinned fruit contains crisp, juicy seeds suitable for fresh eating or juicing. Blooming occurs in late spring to early summer with reddish-orange flowers, and fruit matures by late fall. Originating from Afghanistan, this hardy cultivar can be cultivated up to zone 6 with adequate winter care. As a self-fertile variety, Salavatski does not require cross-pollination.
