Kaiteri Pineapple Guava is a compact, multi-branched shrub or small tree featuring attractive gray-green evergreen leaves with white undersides. Its striking, tropical-style flowers are white with red highlights, and the edible petals have a cotton candy flavor. The resulting fruit offers a unique blend of mint and pineapple tastes. This New Zealand-developed cultivar ripens early and thrives in our climate, producing large, sweet fruits with thin, edible skins that can weigh up to half a pound. While partially self-fertile, fruit yield improves with cross-pollination from another variety. It can be shaped as an espalier, hedge, or standalone specimen.
